Love, Music and Otaku - Chapter 1

Haha... I know this is untitled but I just can't think of a title!! xD
EDIT: I have thought of a title!

Written by Ichigo

Description:
Kii Ryouta is Kise Ryouta's imouto and she's bad at sports - especially basketball. But she was good at music, and she learned how to play instruments, especially the guitar. She was also an otaku! A hardcore one. She has anime figures, posters... you name it! However, she was a tsundere and couldn't get along well with her classmates, so she was alone - all the time. She just couldn't make any friends..... unless they were otakus. Kii was like a total opposite of Kise.

One day, during the Teiko Middle School Cultural Festival, Kii met someone - Oreki Kazuto. He was an otaku, too, but he didn't own any anime figures or posters, since he was kinda poor(We otakus can relate to this, right?). Kii found him holding the manga that was the most popular that time. They spent time together for the next few hours, talking about animes, mangas and vocaloids.

However, something unexpected happened the very next day. Oreki transferred schools! Kii had completely lost all contact of him.

Three years later, during Kii's first year of highschool, she had managed to pass the entrance exams for the Otaku and Gaming School (OAGS). Oreki had passed, too. Together with another 3 friends, they revive the school's Light Music Club and have many adventures together.

Animes inside: Accel World, Kuroko no Basket, K-On, Hyouka, Kyoukai no Kanata, To Aru Majutsu no Index, SAO, and the other animes mentioned inside~

A bit of credits to Rai for helping me with mistakes~

~CHAPTER 1~
She stepped into the school. “Kyaaaaaaaaa~!!!!! This is the best school ever!!” Her name was Kii Ryouta, the imouto of Kise Ryouta.

“This school has gotta have lots of otakus~!” Speaking of otakus, vivid memories flashed through her mind as if it was from yesterday. It was from when she was still in the first year of middle school.

Flashback
Kii was just walking around, enjoying Teiko Middle Schiool's school cultural festival. Out of the blue, she saw someone carrying a manga.... a manga....

She ran up to him, and asked, “Hi, uh... are you.. an otaku..?”  Suddenly, she noticed that the manga was the year’s most popular manga!! “OMG!!! THIS MANGA IS THE MOST POPULAR OF THE YEAR!!!” Kii screamed in delight. She realised what she had said, and blushed. “I-It’s not like I’m an otaku or anything...”

“Y-You’re an otaku too?” The boy said, surprised. He thought there were hardly any otakus in this school. “My name is Oreki Kazuto, and I’m a first year in this school...”

Not caring about her tsundere attitude, Kii immediately said with immense curiousness and sparkling eyes, “I’m a first year too!! I’m curious to see what kind of manga you have at home!!”

Both Kii and Oreki spent the whole of the day talking about animes, manga, cosplay, well, anything an otaku would talk about! Kii fell in love at first sight with him, since otaku and otaku together is a perfect couple.

However, the very next day, Kii had just found out that Oreki had transferred schools. She felt so sad, even Kise couldn’t console her. Eventually, Kii went back to her original self. But she couldn’t make friends with anyone at school, unless they’re otakus. But she did make one - Kuroyukihime, and she’s a second year. Kuroyukihime is just a vocaloid otaku, though. But Kii didn’t mind, as long as she’s an otaku. Besides, being with Kuroyukihime made her learn more about vocaloids.

“Fuyukai desu...” Kii said, thinking of the flashback, then smiled.
(Note: Fuyukai desu is a reference to KNK.)

Kii hoped that Oreki passed the entrance exams for the Otaku and Gaming School. Kuroyukihime passed, too. She’s currently in the second year.

Kii saw Kuroyukihime waving to her. “Hime-senpaaaaaai~!!” Kii waved back.
“Hello, Kii-chan! Welcome to the Otaku and Gaming School!” Kuroyukihime greeted. She knew Kii always wanted to go to this school.

Kuroyukihime hesitated for a moment. “Actually, Kii-chan... I want to ask you for a favour.”

“What is it, Hime-senpai?” Kii asked.

“I want you to help me revive our school’s Light Music Club, it only has 2 members now, and if the members doesn’t reach 5 by next year, the Light Music Club will be removed. I know you’re good at singing and playing the guitar, so I’m asking you to help me right now,” Kuroyukihime explained.

“Whaaat?! Really?! I’ll join!!” Kii replied, excited. This was the first time anyone had asked her to join a club.

“Thanks for joining, I’ll make you the leader of the club,” Kuroyukihime thanked with a smile.

“Eh? Why...?”

“I think you’re suitable. Please don’t laugh, but it’s just my instinct.”

“What?” Kii giggled.

“I said don’t laugh already!” Kuroyukihime pouted.

It was almost time for the morning ceremony, and all students of the school had to assemble in the hall. Kii spied the whole first-years just to see if Oreki was there, but she couldn’t find him. “Oh well,” she said. “I’ll find him later...”

The morning ceremony ended and it was time for classes.

Classes in this school were mostly about anime, manga, vocaloid, and gaming. The students were also taught how to use the Neuro Linker, a virtual reality gadget. And also, they were taught how to fight in both full-diving and reality using it.

Games, (or animes) are automatically downloaded into their Neuro Linker when they first put it on. They are usually the present and last year’s most popular animes. This year was: Shingeki no Kyojin, Kyoukai no Kanata, Sword Art Online, etc.

Most of the homework given here was usually completing quests, reaching a level quota and killing a certain monster. They can be completed by going full-dive into a certain game.

Non-otaku subjects are also taught, but only 4.

Classes have ended, and Kii searched every classroom for Oreki. But he wasn’t there. “I guess he didn’t pass the entrance exams then.. sigh..”

Just as Kii was about to walk out of the school grounds, she heard someone.

“Wait..! Hi, uh... are you.. an otaku..?”
“It can’t be...” Kii turned around. It was...

Oreki Kazuto.

“KAZUTO-KUN!!!!”

“KII-CHAN!!!!”

Both of them hugged each other. However, due to Kii’s tsundere attitude, she pushed Oreki away. “I-It’s not like I missed you or anything, baka!”

“A-Anyway, why couldn’t I find you in the classrooms?” Kii asked.

“I was taking the entrance exams... Sorry, due to some illness I have, I couldn’t do full diving, and that was required to enter this school. Then I asked another otaku friend of mine to ask one of the teachers in this school to let me take the entrance exams, and the school allowed me to enter here due to some special exception,” Oreki replied sheepishly.

Kii’s eyes narrowed and asked in suspicion, “What kind of idiot has *that* kind of illness anyway?!” She blushed and pouted like a tsundere. And she was looking forward to playing SAO with Oreki and others.

Kii suddenly remember something. “I remember you said you have another otaku friend...”

“Uhh.. yeah.. what is it?” Oreki was suspicious of Kii.

“We need him for the Light Music Club. Does he know how to play any instruments?”

“Eh...? Instruments? I think he can play the drum... I doubt anyone has asked him to join any of the clubs yet...”

“Then it’s decided!! He’ll join the Light Music Club!! You’ll join, too!”

“Whaaaat?!!!!! Don’t go off deciding things like that on your own!”

It was finally time for them to go home. Kii found it weird that Oreki was following her.

“Why are you following me?!” Kii shouted.

“I’m not! My house’s this way!” Oreki protested.

In the end, surprisingly, they found out that their houses were...

Beside each other.

Kii’s apartment was blocking Oreki from receiving sunlight though, but Oreki didn’t mind. It was Kii that was living beside him. As long as Kii was beside him, he didn’t mind.

“It’s decided! I’m going to your house every evening to have dinner with you!!” Kii decided, shouting through her window.

“That means I have to buy extra groceries! I’m going to run out of money soon, you know!” Oreki refused.

“I’m still going! And don’t forget my bentou in the morning!”

“W-wait!!”

It was too late. Kii had already closed her window. Oreki sighed. “I wonder how did her brother endure all of these... Fukou da...”

~END OF CHAPTER 1~

Note: Just a heads up, I’m BAD at writing romantic scenes. I need to watch/read more romance anime/manga and books *cries*
